Artist Statement 

 My work explores people's desire to collect object and how these things can project their owner's memories, emotions, experiences. Many people see objects as a container for their emotions, and these objects that are very common to most people may contain many magical experiences and memories for this person.

 

These ideas are combined in my work and presented as different stories, expressing my thoughts based on my own personal experiences and on interviews that I conduct with people. Within this interviews, my subject described the relationships with the childhood toys and other significant personal presessions.

Use oil paints for the overall creation. I make images of those object that belong to the people that I interviewed. In most of the works, I paint very detailed things and then use a monochromatic background to emphasize the main character in the painting. My overall tone is lovely and dreamy, and the primary purpose is to express people's warm memories.

 

My work aims to express my curiosity and concern about the act of people collecting/keeping objects. By painting these objects, I try to incorporate the emotions of the interviewees into my creations to reflect the particularity of these objects and explore more stories behind them.
