My work explores the concerns about how social medias affects women’s anxiety. I am afraid to show my true self on social media. And I believe that many women share this same experience with me. Body anxiety can really affects one’s emotions. I am curious about how we having body anxiety because of the wider use of social media.
These ideas combine in my work as a form of self-reflection, which tell my personal stories based on my anxiety. My main research direction is to investigate the modes of behavior of female users on social networking sites and the things they often feel forced to aspire to.
Even though this is a modern subject, I choose to take a more traditional approach when painting. I mostly use "glazing" during my production. I will use underpainting to express the light, shadow and details of the overall picture, and then use diluted oil paint to paint layer by layer.
The purpose of my work is to express my concerns about women who are addicted to social networks in modern society. Through painting, I relieve my anxiety by putting those emotions into my creations. Bringing awareness of the effects of social media to others as well as myself.
